Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Review

castlevania dawn of sorrowDawn of Sorrow continues the story of Soma Cruz in the Castlevania universe. There’s a ton of stuff to do in this game and a crazy amount of enemies, items, and souls to gather. Each soul adds a different special skill or attack to the player’s arsenal and there is a huge variety of different tactics and play styles to try out here. I quite frankly love this game. You can spend a ton of time gathering all the souls the enemies drops and then upgrading your gear with them. It gets really addicting really fast. The bosses are fun and there are a ton of them. The story is really ham-handed but I haven’t really seen any Japanese games where that wouldn’t have been the case. Also tonaly the game is all over the place with all the different parts of the Dracula’s castle that don’t really go that well together. But that’s minor. They work ok enough. I somehow feel that there cannot be a real Castlevania game unless you’re playing as a Belmont but I just can’t not love this game.
