I played Shadowgrounds through quite a while ago but the impact it left of me is quite clear in my mind. It did nothing really wrong and a lot of things right. It was a fun shooter with a lot of varied locations, weapons, and a lot of things to do. That said, it was still a corridor shooter with no real identity. It felt like it wanted to do everything other games did and thus felt a bit like forgettable mishmash. The action was fun but half the time I asked myself why should I care what’s going on and who are these people. If you take it just as a fun arcade shooter it carries its weight like a pro. Anything above that is not really Shadowgrounds’ specialty.
